Seeking Youth Leaders to Inspire Healthy Living!

Posted on 2/7/2010

The Alliance for a Healthier Generation, a joint initiative between the American Heart Association and the William J. Clinton Foundation, is seeking youth leaders to share their commitment to healthy living and inspire their friends, families, schools and communities to take action and help stop childhood obesity.

The Alliance for a Healthier Generation’s empowerME Movement— 2.2 million tweens and teens strong and growing— inspires kids to make healthy behavior changes and become leaders and advocates for healthy eating and physical activity. The Alliance is searching for a select group of young people from across the country to serve on our Youth Advisory Board (for 2010-2011) and roll up their sleeves for a few hours a month of critical thinking, engaging conversations, good fun, new friendships, and high-profile leadership.

Board members serve as ambassadors for the Alliance for a Healthier Generation, share feedback on Alliance’s Kids’ Movement materials, lead a community service project related to health and most importantly, inspire their peers to eat healthier and move more.

Applicants must be between the ages of 8 and 17 years old when membership begins July 2010 and live in the United States. Interested youth can visit www.empowerme2b.org for more information.
